Just Parenthood is a research project delving into a novel institutionalist framework for understanding parenthood. It questions traditional assumptions about parental rights, duties, and the normative basis of biological connection. It examines new forms of co-parenting, including non-romantic and multi-parent structures, and addresses the growing need for justifications of parenthood’s special societal status. By developing a comprehensive theory of parenthood, the project aims to provide a more inclusive, fair, and adaptable approach to parenting in light of societal and technological changes.

Although Ivana's usual works are subdued, melancholic, and monochromatic, this illustration was intentionally created to be playful and effervescent, reflecting the diversity of family structures. The vibrant color palette and many intricate separate illustrations, create a dense composition where traditional structures, norms, and appearances are fluid and reimagined.
